- You are not the only one. I have the save problem with an Internal

- Should be no problem. FTP software has a winsock.dll hooking onto its kernel.
- This allows to run all winsock compatible programs (e.g. Eudora). If the
- winsock is not included in your PC/TCP package, you can download the latest
- version via FTP from vax.ftp.com

- There's a separate windows version of SQL*Net which works with winsock, it
- supports several commercial implementations aswell as 'generic' winsock and
- I'm using it quite happily with the trumpet winsock for sqlplus under windows
- and foxpro 4 windows using ODBC
- The DOS versions of SQL*Net and SQL*Plus also work fine but you need to use a
- SQL*Net supported TCP/IP implementation (FTP forinstance). Use windows! its
- winsock enables you to do other comm stuff besides Oracle (SQL*Net 4 DOS grabs
- your packet driver and never lets go)

- Get WINSOCK.DLL from ftp.ftp.com.
-
- FTP Software were one of the companies that came up with the original

- Hello David.
-
- Like you I'm a PC networked with packet driver and I also have XWindemo, but
- I can't run it because I don't know nothing about winsock. Could you help me
- please? My questions are:
-
- Where can I get Winsock?
-
- How can I implement Winsock over packet driver?
-
- Thanks in advance for your help and sorry if you feel that
- this post is in someway busybody.

- I know that it is possible to set the configuration of DISTINCT TCP/IP to
- accept incoming SLIP connections. This requires that:
- Your modem is set to "pick up" the line.
- Any DISTINCT application is active (i.g. FTP server).
-
- As far as I am concern they do not have a stand alone SLIP server, but the
- above described "scenario" gives you a similar functionality.
